The BBC, CNN, CBC Newsworld and other all-news broadcasters covered scarcely anything but the narrowly averted catastrophe throughout the day. Funny thing, but the general public wasn't buying it. The reaction was surprisingly cynical...

So I told you about this amazing of a find in Lakewood. Welp, the whole story, which is found in this month’s issue of Homes and Estates, is hitting lawns now. Check it out and read about this amazing backyard, incredible area pools, great ideas for outdoor kitchens, and some pretty nifty gardens. And, look for my favorite part of the entire magazine, pages 12 and 13. Kudos to art director Amy Curry and photography Christina Barany for making that happen.

On CBC Newsworld today the CBC's reporter, Paul Hunter, said "About half the Afghans turned and fled, so there's clearly some work to be done see box at right in link below]." But now he's rather changed the words he uses in print--see bolded bit below. Canadian and Afghan troops moved into the forests and orchards surrounding the city of Kandahar on Wednesday, battling with Taliban fighters who infiltrated the area, officials said. I occasionally take a peek at stock message boards like the Investor Village Overstock.com board when I need a bit of entertainment. It’s especially interesting when the poster “Hannibal” makes statements about the financials and operations of Overstock.com and makes no disclosure that he is, in fact, Patrick Byrne the CEO of Overstock (NASDAQ:OSTK). Patrick and his little friends have a history of using dirty tricks to try to gather information on the people who dare to say anything negative
