Surprises

Sat, 10 May 2008 18:10:47 PDT
Surprises First let me update everyone. Bad news first, yesterday Kelly had to go to the hospital after going to the dr. She was not feeling well and had some weird heart symptoms again so the doc made Kelly go back to winnie palmer to get some tests done. Kelly got IV fluids, blood work done, and an EKG. She ended up being dehydrated and once she got fluids in her she was ok. I did get to do my first daddy day care with Owen which was fun mainly because I got to teach him for 2 hours about

iPhone ‘Currently Unavailable’ at the U.S. online Apple Store, could the rumor we published in April about a May 3G iPhone release be true?

Sat, 10 May 2008 18:12:15 PDT
The U.S. (and U.K.) online Apple Stores are currently sold out of the 8GB and 16GB iPhones showing a status of 'Currently Unavailable'. This is interesting news as it may give more weight to the rumor we published on April 21, 2008 that Apple may release the 3G iPhone and May and then announce a new device at June's WWDC event. The May release rumor In that article we stated the we received a tip that Apple will be announce the 3G iPhone sometime in May and then a new product at WWDC 2008. Yo

Clinton Looses Superdelegate Lead To Obama; Will He Make Her Veep Or Pay Her Off?

Sat, 10 May 2008 18:19:05 PDT
Barring a meteor from space smashing into Barack Obama’s limo, it is clearly over for Hillary Clinton. The turning point has come with the news that Obama now has more super-delegates—party officials and elected Democrats-than does Clinton and seems to be winning over more and more of the fewer and fewer uncommitted ones. By another account, they are only one superdelegate apart now…but it still leads to the same ending. She is right to stay in through the very last primary; she’d be wrong to

Chisinau Mayor Bans Gay Pride on Eve of Parade

Sat, 10 May 2008 18:20:22 PDT
CHISINAU, May 9, 2008 – Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca has banned the Gay Pride parade in the Moldovan capital. The parade, part of “Rainbow over the Dniester” is scheduled to take place on Sunday (May 10). But Pride organisers, GenderDoc-M, say that the Mayor has no power to ban the march. According to the new Moldovan law on public manifestations, local authorities have no right to prohibit a public manifestation, GenderDoc-M say If the authorities have proof that there could be serious tr

Happy Mother's Day!

Sat, 10 May 2008 18:20:55 PDT
I know there are quite a number of moms on my flist, and I hope your offspring is spoiling you the way you deserve today... :) I'm currently looking at and smelling a lovely bundle of lavender I got in church this morning. In other news, it keeps sinking in that I only have a few more weeks left here. Only a bit over 5 weeks until my final exam, I don't even want to think about it. Not because I'm nervous, but because after that it's all about leaving. Seriously, I'd switch all the exciting tra

Lewis & Bushey: Incarcerated For Causing Mental Health Harm To Children

Sat, 10 May 2008 18:21:58 PDT
Today marks the end of Children’s Mental Health Week, and it seems like I just keep running into sad and…odd mental health news related to children. Case in point: Tammy Lewis, mother to a 15-year-old daughter and a 12-year-old son, and self-described bishop Alan Bushey are in custody on “felony counts of being a party to causing mental harm to a child.” According to a Yahoo! News article, Lewis and her two children lived with Magdeline Alvina Middlesworth’s corpse for two months on Bushey’s

Fox News Confession

Sat, 10 May 2008 18:22:15 PDT
There is an unfounded perception that pay television in Australia is nothing more than re-runs of American sit-coms. I often hear this perception verbalised by friends and colleagues, none of whom actually have pay-television. And in the early days, that probably was the case. I don’t know, I only got pay-tv at the end of 2004. But I gotta tell you… I love my Foxtel. I hardly ever watch free-to-air television these days. In fact, I recently removed the coaxial cable from the back of my televis

Knicks Hire Mike D'Antoni as Head Coach

Sat, 10 May 2008 18:24:01 PDT
You could almost feel the foul mood lifting over New York on Saturday when the Knicks announced that they had hired former Phoenix Suns coach Mike D'Antoni. The big dark cloud known as the Isiah Thomas Era is over. New team president Donnie Walsh, who had much success as the head of the Indiana Pacers, made his first move in the job (replacing Thomas) when he named D'Antoni as coach (replacing, um, Thomas). D'Antoni accepted a deal rumored to be about $24 million for four years. The Chicago B

New Arizona Hunting Magazine!

Sat, 10 May 2008 18:24:13 PDT
New Arizona Hunting Magazine! I just got off of the phone with Neil Large, Editor of Canyon State Hunter. A great guy for sure, and he’s pretty excited about their plans for a brand new Arizona hunting magazine. You know what, whether I am directly involved with the new publication or not, I am pretty excited too! I think Arizona’s hunters and fisher-folks are ready for a fresh new magazine. Stay tuned for future announcements as we follow their launch, and subsequent growth. I know a few of
