Mr. PETER] STEINFELS: I think that his talks will be pored over by leaders of the Church, but I don't think they will have the wide impact on ordinary believers. This is a pope who stresses ideas, theology, worship, prayer. He seems to believe that if you get those things right, the rest will fall in line. Other people may take a different approach. They say we need some institutional and organizational changes. KIM] LAWTON: At several points in his trip, Benedict reached outside the Catho
National Game Cricket: Not yet but soon may be
Sun, 27 Apr 2008 12:34:48 PDT
So exactly what is responsible for the poor state of India’s national game. I heard KPS Gill blamed it all on the the excessive hype about cricket. Well, I think Cricket gets all the hype because, the Indian team is good at it. Quite simple. In Bollywood the Khans, Bacchans and Roshans get all the attention over the Oberois and Deols simply because the former are better in the profession. No rocket science there, the media hype and money is proportional to the achievement of the team. Awrite

Speaking in a broadcast interview, Obama also brushed aside a challenge from Hillary Rodham Clinton to debate before the May 6 primaries in Indiana and North Carolina. "I'm not ducking. We've had 21" debate

Claire Danes is Gucci’s New Girl
Sun, 27 Apr 2008 12:39:25 PDT
Gucci has confirmed Stardust star Claire Danes as the new face its new fine jewelry campaign. To be frank, I fell in love with Claire with Brokedown Palace (1999) and haven’t since missed a single opportunity to see her in a news show or in a movie… and now to see her in Gucci jewelry! Hmm… that ought to make Zahraine jealous. Claire, now 29, will dazzle in a series of print campaigns for the Italian fashion house, taking over from Drew Barrymore, who acted as the spokesperson for the brand t

Yesterday I went to the Capital City Market (a.k.a. the Florida Avenue] Market) on a tour by Richard Layman, Ken Firestone and Elise Bernard on a tour sponsored by Cultural Tourism DC. Formerly Jewish and Greek, then Asian, the market now as strong Latino and African (east and west) participation. So you’ll see a mix of families, small restaurant owners and

In all of my rhetoric assignments, I’ve pretty much lambasted people for using too much pathos and not enough logos. When we’re told to write about a specific topic picked by the professor, I’m always able to bring it around to some example of a dumbass using pathos to make more laws that didn’t work the first time around. When I’m allowed to write on my own topics, I’ve almost universally used gun control rhetoric as an example of bad ingenium. I’m very glad that my professor is as open-min

Blonde thingy Paris Hilton and boyfriend Benji Madden are being investigated by police for an alleged hit and run, according to The Sun. They are accused of driving over photographer Glen Gurniak’s foot as they left a club in Los Angeles Thursday.
